did i mention that my parents moved to kentucky? yup, kentucky. agusta to be exact, thats 1711 miles away.
i guess they were feeling like empty nesters so they decided to go on an adventure. its a cute little town with a population of about 1500 peeps. i personally think the town council rounded up. we went for a visit over spring break. after taking a tour of the town (that took all of 3 min.) i feel in love. it is right along the ohio river. the houses were built more than a hundred years ago. you can walk to the general store, pharmacy, and post office in less than 5 min. and the best part, there are 5 antique stores on main st.
we flew into louisville and went to the slugger factory. brought back old memories
sorry i dont know how to rotate, im lame
inside the longest running winery's (in the us?) celler. it was built something like 200 years ago. this celler is huge and all made out of stone. so cool.
main st. isnt is cute? see the little green store front? it is nina clooneys antique store, as in georges mom. guess he grew up here. we stopped by, i got a priting block, and we chatted with nina as we had known eachother for years
kentucky and ohio are dotted with these old tobacco barns. its the popular crop around those parts.
the best part of our trip was eating at the general store with the AA blue grass band as our entertainment. really though- we had to make our reservations 8 days in advance. the music was actually good and the food was too.
the ohio river was flooded while we were there. this is the road infront of my parents house. it didnt quite get to the house.
we had such a great time. the people in agusta are genuinly so kind. my parents have already made great friends and love it there. we miss them so much and are thankful we were able to make the trip. we cant wait to go back
Randy was just telling me the other day that your parents moved out there! I can't believe they moved so far away, thats crazy! But cool that now you guys have a fun little place to go visit whenever you go see them! Looks like a cute little town and a fun trip :)
